Poor Izzy

Friday we got our little Chihuahua fixed. She's 6 months old. Poor little thing is hurting. Izzy acts like she's fine, and want to jump on my bed or the couch, lap, etc. but she's not. Definitely worried she'll rip her stitches or do internal damage. Uhg. Even the medicine the vet sent home isnt slowing her down. The vet said that she wouldnt want to eat or walk around for a couple of days. Not Izzy, she wanted to eat right away and playful later on in the evening.
You know if a human had that surgery we'd be out of commission for 6 weeks or more and complaining the whole time. She's whining right now but I think its because she wants to be with me. I had to put her in her play yard because I was tired of holding her. She's 10 pounds of chunky chihuahua.
Here's hoping tomorrow gets easier.

Black Cat Cutter

I just got my beautiful Black Cat Cutter and I am excited to start learning all about it. It cuts amazing material. I'm so impressed with how pretty it looks. Downloading the driver as we speak (on my laptop). Gonna get to cutting soon. I'll have to show you all what I make with it.

Here is a picture of it. Right out of the box.
Just in case you want more information you can go here and check it out.

What is it?

My daughter and I were going through some stuff piled in my scrapbook room. In the pile was a bunch of vinyl that had gotten bent. I didn't quite know what to do with the vinyl yet. While I was cleaning, Rachel said... lets hang up this clock. (Since they are always asking me "What time is it?") So she hung it up on the wall above my closet door.

Well I was playing with the cutter and the ruined vinyl (which by the way wasn't really ruined, you cant tell it was bent once it was cut).

Well I decided to cut out the phrase they use so much... What time is it? I put the larger letters up first and was cutting my smaller pieces when my husband came in, looked up at the wall and said with a straight face .... A CLOCK!! (Do I get anything for knowing the answer?)
We both burst out laughing because it looked exactly as he said. He's brilliant, if you didn't already know. He chuckled as he left my scrapbook room.
The picture shows the Before and After image.

I thought you'd like a little chuckle too.

New Years Resolutions

Why is it that we set ourselves up to fail? What? you ask... well we start the new year with a set of resolutions (goals) that we would like to achieve for the coming year. So we set these high expectations for ourselves and when we look back at the year, we find that we failed.
The top resolutions that people make are *get organized *lose weight etc.
Should I make a set of goals for the year 2010? Will I meet these goals? or will it be Dec 31, 2010 that I look back at this and slap my forehead and say... oh man, I failed at everything I set before myself?
I figure I'll lower my expectations and see where it goes from there.

Resolution #1,
Blog more.

Resolution #2,
Lose 4 pounds. (if I gain it back its fine because I will have met the goal of losing the 4 pounds in the first place). Do I need to lose more? Oh you betcha, but hey... this is lower expectations remember.

Resolution #3,
Go through my scrapbook stuff and eliminate what has a 2inch thick layer of dust on it. (Which I'm sure is not acid free).

Resolution #4,
Drink more water. (I'm a tea fanatic, I stopped soda last year- however I still enjoy a soda once in awhile)

Resolution #5,
Tell my boss NO more often. I'm hoping this resolution will not result in me standing in the unemployment line. (I'm asked often to help her because other employees cant or wont carry their own work load.) Most likely this resolution will not be met unless I count saying no more often that includes "no I wont be late, no I dont mind helping, no its not too late to call". (these are all saying No to her, but in a different way that I would have intended a resolution to include.

Ok enough with resolutions. I feel these are things I can definately work on and achieve.
So If I blog more this will mean more scrapbooking because I dont think everyone wants to read the ramblings of a lunatic. However everyone wouldnt mind popping in to see the latest paper piecings or snagging a free file now and again.

Take care and have a great New Years. Be kind to yourself... you are the only YOU you get.

Look what I made

I made this set and its so cute. I put it up on ebay for sale. Its only a 3 day auction and I hope it sells. I put alot of time and effort into the set. It was fun to make but I'm not sure I'll do it again. I might just do Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph next time. Perhaps the animals individually for different projects. Hope you enjoy.

Here is a link to the auction. It has the other 10 pieces on there.
